Bringing Outdoor Elements into an Indoor Gardening

The business of indoor gardening is increasing on a daily basis. The growth of the plant depends on 5 essential factors in nature – soil, air, water, sunlight, and temperature. Without a harmony of these elements, plants would wither out and die. The question rises as to how these elements will adjust in an indoor garden. To answer this question let us look at them in detail.

1. The soil is the basic requirement in growing a plant. There are different nutrients in the ground that are essential for healthy growth. As we water the plants, the soil absorbs the excess water for later use. Then plants can quickly absorb water from the earth. The earth also holds the plant in an upright position and holds it firmly to the ground. This element of nature can be easily transferred indoors in different pot sizes.

2. The second important element is air. Plants filter unhealthy gases into oxygen by the process of photosynthesis. Any obstruction in the process will affect the plant, and it will result in excess carbon dioxide, which is harmful to humans. To keep this an ongoing process, you need to have right ventilation shafts or windows to let air move in the space freely.

3.If the quantity of water is too little or too much, the plants will experience stress and could die. Most plants need water once every few days, or when their soil dries. Many times nature itself shows you signs to guide you along the way; you need to pay attention to these signs.

4. You need to have a controlled temperature for the plants because different plant species adapt to various seasons and weather. Have temperature-controlling regulators installed in your indoor garden, also a temperature gauge to keep track of the changing climate.

5.    Sunlight or artificial light is essential for all plants belonging to all seasons. Without light energy, plants cannot conduct photosynthesis. 1. Soil Garden:

This is a most common technique, which allows the outdoor elements of nature to fit in the space of your home. These are mini gardens with soiled plants in different forms of containers including; plastic, fabricated concrete or ceramics. The home temperature is ideal for growing local plants. Growers develop effective ways to produce more plants in minimum spaces through vertical gardening.

2. Soil less Gardening:

As the name suggests no soil is necessary for plantation. Hydroponics is a technique in which clay pellets are used instead of soil. A particular nutrient solution is given to plants to ensure moisture is supplied to the roots. Individual containers are also used in the water culture technique, in which bubbles are created to irrigate the roots. Aeroponics uses a mister to spray different solutions to the plant. These methods can grow vegetables, but not root vegetables. 

3. Greenhouse Gardening:

This type of indoor gardening has plants in a controlled environment. This is a proper building with all the essential elements found in nature. The house size can be according to the demand of the gardener. You must make sure that the covering on the house should allow sunlight to pass and reach the plant. You can grow all types of plants, seasonal and nonseasonal ones with proper guidance.

4. Aquaponics:

This method is a combination of aquaculture and hydroponics. There are two main parts, an aquaculture tank, and a hydroponics tank. The waste materials from the fish act as a fertilizer for the plants, which transfers to the hydroponics tank.
